Vielen von euch ist es bestimmt schon aufgefallen, dass wir einige Player nur in bestimmten Browsern unterstützen. Seit heute Nachmittag ist dies nun Geschichte und im Kampf Captain Ad vs. Internet Explorer konnte die entscheidende (See) Schlacht gewonnen werden.
Ab sofort können alle von uns unterstützen Videoplayer in den Browsern Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox 1.5+, Opera 9+ und Safari 2+ mit Werbung verankert werden. Der positive Effekt für euch ist, dass jetzt auf mehr Videos Werbung ausgestrahlt wird, und Ihr dadurch mehr Geld verdient.

Das Captain Ad-Attribut
Das Captain Ad-Attribut funktioniert ganz einfach: Fügt dem <object>- oder <embed>-Code eures Players einfach den Codeschnippsel rel=”captainad” hinzu. Dadurch ist das Captain Ad-Skript in der Lage, euren Player als Videoplayer zu identifizieren und mit Werbung zu verankern - im Beispiel sähe der Code dann so aus:
<object rel="captainad"><param name=”movie” value=”meinvideoplayer.swf”/>
…
</object>
Beachtet bitte, dass nur Videos erkannt werden können, die mindestens 300 x 250 Pixel groß sind - das ist die Mindestgröße für unsere Captain Ad-Werbebanner.

Hallo!
Ich habe einen Bug entdeckt
Es gibt ihn eigentlich schon seit Anfang von CaptainAd, nur war mir das irgendwie nicht bewußt.
Die Videos, die CaptainAd Skript erkennt werden beim einbinden in die Webseite immer linksbündig dargestellt. Egal ob man die CSS ändert oder im Quellcode align=”middle” schreibt. Beispiel dafür ist auf meienr Seite

Services look interesting. I didn’t see the JWPlayer on the list which is a highly used player now.

Hello Sunshine,
the JWPlayer is not in the list but we also support the JW Player.
The reason, why the JW Player is not listed, is because sometimes the integration of our ads into the JW Player is a liitle bit harder and fails at first sometimes. The reason for that, is that we detect the player by analyzing the src atribute. And this src attribute differs in many cases when people are using the JW Player.
